What are the volunteer roles at our club?

Below are some of the most common volunteer roles within our club.


If you are interested you can inquire about the possibilities at the email address below. There are also a number of concrete vacancies, but do not hesitate to get in touch even if there is no vacancy in your field!


Because only together do we keep our club afloat!


COACH FIELD HOCKEY TEAM

A coach of a field hockey youth team supervises the game and guards the enjoyment of the game and therein the culture of sportsmanship and respect; to each other, to the coaching staff, to the referees and to the opponent. The main goal is to make and keep field hockey sportive, stimulating, interesting, educational and fun for the children.


Duties:

1) Match guidance

2) Guarding sportsmanship & respect

3) Monitor individual & team enjoyment and adjust as needed


Time commitment:

Depends on the location where the game is played. At least two hours per Saturday you will be busy.


MANAGER FIELD HOCKEY TEAM

The manager of a field hockey team handles organizational and logistical matters; either by himself or through outsourcing to others.


Duties:

1) Start-up organization team early in the season

2) Organization around team & competitions

3) Contact & consultation with line coordinator

4 ) Contact & consultation with training coordinator

5) Fills out digital match form


Time commitment:

At the beginning of the season about an afternoon a week. Once the season starts, about an hour a week .


LINE COORDINATOR

The line coordinator takes care of the organization of the (youngest) youth age line. She or he is the point of contact for the teams, players, parents, coaches and trainers within the respective line.


Duties:

1) Classification of teams

2) Ensures that there is a coach and a manager on each team.

3) Indicate through the match secretariat at what strength the teams should be assigned.

4) During the pre-competition of the season be alert for any better rescheduling.

5) Following the line. This means seeing the teams regularly and having a chat with the coach of the team in question.


Time commitment:

Depending on the size of the line about two to three hours per week. During the period of team assignments in May/June and the start of the field hockey season in August/September, the time commitment is more.


HOST/HOSTESS - INFORMATION DESK

Our hosts/women receive visiting teams and referees during game days (Sat and/or Sun) and are points of contact for members, parents and others when it comes to providing general information.


Duties:

1) Reception in clubhouse of our members, visitors and fans

2) Providing general information and answering questions

3) Keeping an eye on things


Time commitment:

Working shifts of approximately 3 hours on Saturdays or Sundays. You can specify when you want towork a shift


CLUSSERS

Our handyman team provides all kinds of hands-on services when it comes to our clubhouse, fields and materials.


Duties:

1) Drilling

2) Carpentry

3) Painting

etc. :)


Time commitment:

A few hours a month (still people needed for Monday nights!)


COMMITTEES, E.G. VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE

The club runs on volunteers and this committee tries to do its part so that everyone can play great field hockey.


Duties:

Devise and organize activities to recruit new volunteers, value and retain existing volunteers and get other volunteer issues on the agenda through this committee.


Time spent

Depends on the nature of the activities. Usually about a few hours a month.


SOCIAL REPORTER

Through Instagram Stories, reporters show what is happening at our club. The club is looking for reporters to make a fun story around the matches of Ladies 1 and Men 1 (mostly on Sundays), reporters to make stories about our youth teams on Saturdays, and reporters to feature our seniors in a story on Sundays and/or Thursday nights.


Duties:

1) Making movies with the phone

2) Posting on Instagram


Time spent

Either Saturday or Sunday once or twice a month for about two hours. Posting the stories is done on the spot.
