Diversity and Inclusion in our DNA: We Connect - We Play - We Grow
Inclusion and diversity have been woven into our DNA for 100 years: We Connect - We Play - We Grow.
HC Oranje-Rood wants to be a field hockey club where everyone feels safe and enjoys the sport of field hockey. Everyone can safely participate at HC Oranje-Rood from their own background or competences. Differences in standards and beliefs are hugely valuable, regardless of religion, sexuality, skin color, socio-economic background, disability or education.
We therefore consider it important to prevent unpleasant and undesirable matters (e.g. bullying, (sexual) harassment or discrimination) within our club and make them discussable where necessary. We work with various officials (Confidential Contact Person and Confidential Advisors) and applicable protocols (behavioral protocols, disciplinary & trust regulations etc, VOG protocol, AVG protocol).

There is a focus within HC Oranje-Rood on promoting diversity and inclusion by implementing targeted activities and forming targeted partnerships.
Examples Partnerships:
Neighborhood Kids Urban Hockey Day.
This day (annually in May) is dedicated to the new and cool form of field hockey; Urban Hockey. On this day, an extra incentive is given to make field hockey attractive and accessible to young people who do not automatically join a regular field hockey club.
ABN AMRO enables exposure through on-site expressions, social media and press moments.
Activities are held annually with players, players and volunteers of HC Oranje-Rood in cooperation with the Eindhoven City Council.
Grab the VIBE
Grab the VIBE is a super fun Eindhoven-based youth project through which they challenge everyone between the ages of 14-18 to get off the couch. Registered youth receive free workshops in the fields of sports, culture, lifestyle and technology, as well as 50 euros for a project if you attend all the workshops and volunteer. Moreover, this allows them to tick off their social internship hours!
Field hockey is fun, field hockey is a team sport and field hockey is for everyone. Since a number of years HC Oranje-Rood also has a ParaHockey team. In this team children and young people with physical or mental disabilities play. Our motto is: sports should be fun. Therefore we make the 'fun factor' big. The players look forward to training every Saturday and so do the trainers!
A few times a year the training is supported by players from Ladies 1 or Men I. For example, Gijs van Merriënboer one of the team's ambassadors.
ParaHockey is for children ages 6 and up with physical or intellectual disabilities. The basic principle is "ordinary what can be ordinary, and special when it has to be special.
Project Community Service (MDT) MDT is the journey of discovery for young people to become the best version of themselves.
An opportunity for young people to discover their talents, be meaningful, meet new people, and make choices for the future. Young people between the ages of 14 - 24 who have an intrinsic motivation to use their talents to do something for others are too often dependent on coincidences to actually make an impact in their home, school or living environment. HC Oranje-Rood is a partner in this project (directed by Lumens Werkt) together with Brainport Development, TMC Entrepreneurial Lab, Ergon, St. Lucas, Media 52, Municipality of Eindhoven, Playing for Success, Eindhoven Parktheater, Wij Eindhoven and the Krajicek Foundation.
It puts young people in contact with like-minded people, provides them with tools in their own development and supports them to actually make a difference in another person's life.

After the European Football Championship, the Olympics and all the other great events, the super sports summer continued August 30, 2024 with the Heroes' Day Hockey! At our complex, the Heroes of Pole Position Foundation competed with each other in a sporty and fun way. It became a wonderful day full of great trainings and clinics.
