Unlimited field hockey

Field hockey is fun, field hockey is a team sport and field hockey is for everyone. Since a few years HC Oranje-Rood also has a Parahockey team. In this team children and young people with physical or mental disabilities play. Our motto is: sports should be fun. Therefore we make the 'fun factor' big. The players look forward to training every Saturday and so do the trainers!

In addition, HC Oranje-Rood is a club with field hockey at the highest level, which is also for the Parahockey team super fun to see and experience up close. An example of this is walking in the line-up with your favorite player from Ladies 1 or Men 1. In short: whatever your child can or wants to do, Oranje-Rood is the place to be!

For whom

ParaHockey is for children ages 6 and up with physical or intellectual disabilities. The basic principle is "ordinary what can be ordinary, and special when it has to be special.

Training and competitions

Training sessions are held on Saturday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45 am. This season we have started a training group of 12 children aged 10 to 19. The training starts with a round of warm up and a tap game. During training, small groups are made who are supervised by a trainer and get to work learning field hockey. From flatting and pushing to the tip in, from hits and handball to an indian dribble and a zig zag between the pawns, we all practice. At the end of practice, we play a final game. Then we end the training with our now famous yell and drink lemonade together at or in the clubhouse.

Since season 2023-2024, Parahockey has also been playing in the parahockey league!

The trainers (from O16&O14 youth and seniors) have experience in training and are under the direction of a professional head coach.

Extra fun: A few times a year the training is supported by players from Ladies 1 or Men I. Or we play a game of Sevens together with players from the O14 youth.

Parahockey activities are also organized with other teams in the region. For example, we regularly participate in a tournament or attend a clinic. In winter, if there is sufficient interest, there is indoor hockey training.

Trial training and registration

It is possible to attend 3 free trial training sessions (free of charge). If you like it, you can then sign up as a member. You can join throughout the year. You can sign up via thisform. Once the information is received by the secretariat, one of the managers of the Parahockey team will contact you. We will then agree on a training date! After three trial trainings you decide if you want to become a member.

Contribution

The annual fee is € 215, which does not include a one-time registration fee of € 68. A separate fee is charged for winter training.
