FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions about membership

  • If I don't want to be a playing member, but volunteer or something else, how can I indicate that?

On the registration form you can indicate what your volunteer role within HC Oranje-Rood could be. After receipt of this form you will be contacted to see where and when you can volunteer at HC Oranje-Rood.

Or send an email to [email protected]

  • How do I apply for a duo membership?

You can apply for a duo membership by sending an email to our membership office with your name and team.

The application must be in the possession of HC Oranje-Rood before the start of the season. So for season 2024-2025 you must indicate no later than August 1, 2024 whether you want to make use of this.

  • I am pregnant, what does that mean for my membership?

That depends on when you stop playing because of your pregnancy.

In our membership terms and conditions, Section 4 lists the eligibility requirements for refunds (and how to request a refund). If you meet these conditions, the following applies in determining any refund:

Per season the difference in contribution between 'playing and non-playing member' for 3 months (if absent during full autumn or spring competition) or 6 months (if absent during full autumn and spring competition) is considered. The league schedule in accordance with the KNHB playing days calendar is followed.

Because in certain situations it may be more beneficial to temporarily cancel your membership in the event of a child birth/pregnancy, the membership terms include that you do not have to pay a registration fee if you rejoin within 7 years of deregistration.

In the situation that you do not cancel early and then become pregnant during the season that you are a playing member, you can, in addition to a refund request, also appeal to a nice extra: if the born child within 7 years will play field hockey at HC Oranje-Rood, you do not have to pay registration fees for this child. Maternity present from the club! Would you like to qualify for this? Then send a request with birth card to [email protected].

  • Where can I find my membership number?

Upon registration, you will receive a membership number.

This membership number can be found on the membership invoice you can expect to receive in your mailbox each August.

  • What is a duo membership?

Duo membership means that you participate in a maximum of half of all league matches, but as a duo member you can participate in all team trainings and activities and you are of course welcome to all club activities. Duo membership has a special fee, check this page for more information.

  • How do I cancel my membership?

If you do not want to or cannot play field hockey next season, please remember to cancel your membership in time to avoid paying dues again next season.

Send an e-mail to [email protected] before June 1.

Your cancellation will be confirmed by email and is then final.

If parents already know that their child(ren) will not continue playing field hockey we would appreciate knowing as soon as possible. Then we will know if there will be a spot on a team for next season for new registrations.

Note: the coach, trainer, teammate or captain are of course happy to know about your plans, but letting them know does not count as (official) cancellation!

  • Lost login data / Login fails

Questions about invoices/dues

  • How do I let you know I want to pay by direct debit (in one or four installments) or manually by invoice?

Your choice of direct debit can be made known by emailing this to [email protected].

Registrations after said date can only pay in 1 installment via direct debit.

Collection of field dues will take place in late Aug, late Sept, late Oct and late Nov. Collection of hall dues will take place in late December.

New members can sign up only after approval for direct debit.

  • Where do dues go and what do we pay everything from? Overview of income and expenses

HC Oranje-Rood has 3 main activities that cost money, and for which we therefore need to generate income. The starting point is that each activity generates its own income.

In the following overview, we provide an outline of the main sources of income and expenses.

    1.Association

The association are all field hockey members from funkey to veterans, on teams, training members, and also a few non-playing members. Only source of income is membership dues.

How this is spent can be found here.

    2. Operation

Exploitation deals with our complex: the clubhouse, the fields and everything related to them. The income of Exploitation is the revenue from the catering and field fees, which are paid by the club.

The expenses of the operation are again the costs of rent and maintenance of the fields (to the municipality and banks) and the costs to the complex. This includes the interest and repayment of the mortgage, energy, insurance, cleaning, waste disposal, and together with the municipality , which owns the clubhouse changing rooms, we take care of the maintenance together in a VVE (association of owners).

The cost breakdown of operations can be found here.

    3. Top field hockey

By Tophockey we mean the members of the 1st line teams, from O12 youth up to Ladies and Men 1. The income of Tophockey comes from our sponsors and from the topsport contribution for the youth members (extra amount on top of the regular contribution, see also the contribution overview). Tophockey is therefore not financed by our members who are not part of Tophockey and fall under the Association. Tophockey itself provides the necessary income.

The expenses of Top Hockey are the cost of all Top trainers, materials and the cost of Ladies 1 and Men 1.

  • Where can I find all dues amounts and terms?

You can find all of our information about dues for the 2024-2025 season, including dues terms, here .

  • When can I expect the direct debit?

You can expect the direct debit of the first installment of dues for 2024-2025 by HC Oranje-Rood August 28, 2024.

If you have chosen direct debit in one installment, the total amount of your dues for 2024-2025 will be collected at the end of August.

If you have chosen direct debit in four installments, the first installment of your 2024-2025 dues will be collected at the end of August, the second installment at the end of September, the third installment at the end of October and the fourth installment at the end of November.

  • What is the cost for a yellow/red card?

Since the 2021-2022 season, the KNHB charges an administrative fee to all clubs for yellow and red cards of their members. A yellow card costs us €15 and a red even €50. The board has decided per season 2022-2023 to charge these costs to the member concerned, plus €2.50 administration fee. So €17.50 for a yellow card and €52.50 for a red card which will be billed monthly.

    1. A team playing within the same age group in the same class or in a lower class;
    2. A team playing in a lower age category plays a maximum of 1 class higher; If a team from a lower age category is substituted into a higher age category and the difference is greater than 1 age category, one class is added per age category.

Questions about insurance

  • Am I insured for field hockey (injury) damages?

Unfortunately accidents happen when playing sports. In cooperation with the KNHB, members of Oranje-Rood can make use of the KNHB's collective accident insurance and liability insurance. The members must initiate this themselves.

Through this link below you can make a report as a member of Oranje-Rood, then you will be helped from Interpolis. The collective insurances offer secondary coverage. Interpolis will usually refer you to your own insurer first.
